HONOLULU(AP)- A mysterious
light seen is(n) skies over Hawaii early Friday morning was a large meteor,
according to the Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard
said it determined the source of the light after an investigation.
Police dispatchers
on Oahu, Maui and the Big island recieved calls after the light was seen
around 2:40 a.m.
On Oahu, callers
described the light as bluish purple.
Big Island police
said the light, which was seen in all districts of the island, made the
night sky as bright as day."
I happened to be up at that time and saw the "Flash" and immediately went outside where I heard what appeared to be very long and distant rolling thunder.
